With the Fall semester in full swing, there are so many ways for our students to get involved and engage with their fellow Bobcats. We know when students participate in a club or organization that there is a positive impact on their overall experience and academic performance. I had a great time learning about all the exciting things happening on our campuses and visiting with student groups at the Student Organization Fair hosted by The Division of Student Success. The best part? If a students can’t find an organization that is right for them, they can start one!

My Top Ten Moments


From academic partnerships, like the Austin Community College Bats to Cats, to new traditions that include our community members, it has been an eventful first month back on our campuses. Take a look at just a few favorite highlights from my top moments this month.

 

Mission Moment

What a strong start to the 2023-24 academic year! We broke multiple enrollment records that move us closer to reaching our strategic imperatives to grow enrollment and Run to R1. I can’t wait to see what other records we set together this year.

  • Largest freshman class for the third consecutive year
  • Historic number of new students enrolled
  • Record-breaking number of new Ph.D. students
  • All-time high for international enrollment
  • Most first-time freshmen ranked in Top 25%
  • #1 in Texas for Fall 2023 ApplyTexas first-year applicants

 

In Case You Missed It

  • Princeton Review named TXST one of the best institutions for undergraduates.
  • Five from TXST are honored with TSUS Regents’ Awards for 2023.
  • Texas Veterans Commission awards TXST gold recognition for third consecutive year.

 

While I have the privilege to share all of the good news from TXST, our accomplishments are only possible through the hard work, support, and vision of so many who go beyond to lift up our students and our university. I celebrate our achievements, but I also celebrate all of you for being a part of the TXST story.
