Beyond celebrating TXST’s 125th anniversary, I knew 2024 would be a special year for our Bobcat community.

For the first time in TXST history, we have surpassed 40,000 enrolled students for Fall 2024.

This is a significant milestone in our TXST story, and one we are extremely proud of. However, our mission goes beyond reaching our enrollment goal. The success of our 40,678 students in San Marcos and Round Rock, as well as across the state, the country, and the globe, is at the heart of everything we do. In addition to our high enrollment numbers, we are also keeping more students enrolled and working toward their degree after their first year at TXST than ever before.

We have so many new Bobcats joining us this year — a record-setting freshman class (8,165) for the fourth consecutive year. We saw a 24% enrollment increase at our Round Rock Campus largely due to the addition of 10 new academic programs. This fall we reached our highest enrollment for new and continuing doctoral, transfer, international, continuing, and new students. In fact, TXST has more new students (12,328) than the total enrollments of more than 20 universities in Texas.

This month’s Current video highlights many of the records we set this year. You can also visit our Fall 2024 enrollment landing page to learn more about what these accomplishments mean for our university and our students.

In addition to this exciting growth at TXST, we have partnered with Elisia Education Hub to open a new TXST campus in the Mexican city of Santiago de Querétaro. Check out this recap video of our trip to the campus.

Thanks to the generosity of so many who believe in TXST, we also closed our “Next is Now” Capital Campaign at the end of August, raising more than $275 million and far exceeding our goal. The end of the campaign marked our highest ever fundraising year in university history. Together, we continue to build a TXST legacy for the next 125 years.

My Top Ten Moments:

From taking down UTSA in the I-35 Rivalry for the first time in the series to participating in National Hispanic Heritage Month events and enjoying some barbecue at the Round Rock Campus Cookout, this was truly a month of achievement and friendship. Check out a few of my top moments from September.

In Case You Missed It:

  • Round Rock Campus welcomes first-year students
  • TXST’s ‘Next is Now’ capital campaign surpasses fundraising goal
  • TXST establishes campus in Querétaro, Mexico
  • TXST, San Marcos CISD partner for dual credit program

The future of The Current will look, and sound, a little different. Starting in October, we will be transitioning the format to replace the video with a podcast. In the podcast episodes, I will cover a variety of topics that show TXST’s impact at home and around the world.

I cannot wait for you to hear what we have in store for you!

Sincerely,

Kelly Damphousse
President
