Dear Friends,

As we step into 2025, I am filled with gratitude for all we have accomplished together and optimism for the journey ahead. Texas State University is thriving because of your unwavering support, and together, we are creating opportunities that will shape the future for generations of Bobcats to come.

Here is a snapshot of what we achieved in 2024:

  • Research Milestone: Achieved an all-time high of $165 million in research expenditures, keeping us on track for Carnegie R1 status by 2027.
  • Transformational Giving: Surpassed our Capital Campaign goal, raising $275 million to empower students and transform lives.
  • Record Enrollment: Welcomed over 40,000 students, setting records across 10 enrollment categories, from the number of freshman students to an all-time high in new doctoral students. Enrollment increased by 24% on our Round Rock Campus.
  • Athletic Excellence: Secured back-to-back bowl wins, including the recent SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on January 3, and our athletics program celebrated its third Bubas Commissioner’s Cup win in six years.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Partnered with Austin Community College and Collin College to increase access to a TXST degree and finalized a dual credit program with the San Marcos Consolidated School District. We are building relationships with other Texas community colleges to expand opportunities.
  • Academic Growth: Introduced 41 online programs, and in the process of launching 11 new doctoral programs. Doctoral degrees awarded increased 31% in 2024.
  • Global Impact: Opened our first international campus in Querétaro, Mexico, and are in discussion with universities across Italy, Spain, Scotland, Japan, and India.
  • Prestigious Honor: Became the fifth public university in Texas to establish a Phi Beta Kappa chapter, with our first initiation this March.
  • Unforgettable Celebrations: Gathered for Celebrate 125 with Josh Abbott Band, and we hosted President George W. Bush at the LBJ Distinguished Lecture Series for our 125th anniversary.
  • Campus Expansion: Began construction on Esperanza Hall, a new academic building on the Round Rock Campus. A leading-edge STEM building is under construction on our San Marcos Campus as well as two new residence halls that will house 12,000 Bobcats by 2027.

I could go on, but this list speaks volumes about the momentum driving TXST forward, expanding access to education, and elevating our national profile.

As we move into 2025 and beyond, we will build on this progress and continue to fulfill the Hopes and Aspirations High vision I put forth in 2023 to elevate student success, Run to R1, increase enrollment, grow the Round Rock Campus, and become an employer of choice.

Here's to a great 2025! Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. Your support fuels our success and inspires everything we do.our
