‌Dear Friends,

In this Thanksgiving season, I am moved to express my gratitude for the support you continue to give to our TXST students. It is not by luck that TXST is on an amazing trajectory – it is due to the action, focus, and dedication of so many people who believe in how TXST is fulfilling its noble mission. I am especially thankful that on election day, Texas voters passed Proposition 5, which will create the Texas University Fund (TUF). This transformative investment in TXST’s future will provide at least $22 million per year to advance our efforts to become a Research 1 university. TUF will open doors for TXST students and researchers who are engaged in creating new knowledge that will benefit Texans and the world. Please take a moment to read the email I sent to TXST faculty, staff, and students to mark this historic occasion.

In other big news, our football team has been carried by a wave of Bobcat spirit to become eligible to compete in our first ever bowl game. Please know how much our student-athletes value your support. The excitement around this season continues to generate national awareness for the university and engage our community. We have created a website to help you stay up to date on our march toward the first bowl game in TXST history. We hope to fill up the stadium wherever we are sent to play!

These accomplishments, and many others, are even sweeter when shared with our Bobcat family. Beth and I thank you for your friendship and support and look forward to a wonderful 2024.
