Video: The Wittliff Collections Tour

President Damphousse with Dr. Coleman inside The Wittliff Collections with play button

One of our greatest points of pride at Texas State University is The Wittliff Collections in the heart of our San Marcos Campus. It houses extraordinary galleries, exhibits and research material on the top floor of Alkek Library. I joined Dr. David Coleman for a guided tour of some of our most treasured cultural artifacts.

Mission Moment: Bobcats Can Do!

Last week, we celebrated graduation for 4,500 of our newest TXST alumni. Recognizing our graduates’ achievements reminded me of something our most famous alumnus used to say. President Lyndon B. Johnson believed that you can achieve whatever you envision. He surrounded himself with people to whom he referred to as “can do people.” These were people who “got stuff done.” He gave mementoes to his valued staff members that had the words “Can Do” inscribed on them. Our students and alumni are “can do” people. Powered by resilience and determination, Bobcats Can Do! With support from compassionate faculty and staff, Bobcats Can Do! It’s a privilege to lead this remarkable community and to call TXST home.

My Top Ten Moments

The last few weeks have been such a thrill. I had the honor of gathering with our generous philanthropic partners, hosting a Run to R1 Town Hall and 1K Walk/Run, recognizing employees with many decades of service, and serving students breakfast for dinner. Check out my Top Ten Moments.
