Dear Colleagues:
To kick off the Fall semester and the new academic year, I invite all members of the faculty and staff to the annual “State of TXST” event on August 23, starting at 8:30 a.m. in Strahan Arena in the University Events Center (UEC).
This year’s State of TXST will have a special 125th anniversary theme. I will highlight some of our recent accomplishments, share my vision for the upcoming year, and moderate a panel discussion with members of the President’s Cabinet on future initiatives that support opportunities for continued growth, innovation, and impact.
I am requesting that all faculty and staff members on the San Marcos Campus attend the State of TXST morning events if they are able. University offices that must stay open to serve students may use skeleton crews to remain open. All other offices can close between 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Join me in the UEC lobby at 8:30 a.m. for coffee and pastries, followed by my State of TXST presentation and student performances in Strahan Arena at 9 a.m.
That evening, I hope you and your family attend the annual LBJ Kickoff. It will be a family affair, with something for everyone, including a kid zone, music, food, and fun at UFCU Stadium from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Watch for an evite in your TXST email.
For all new faculty members, please save the date for a welcome reception in your honor from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on August 23 at the Champions Club in the UFCU Stadium. While members of our faculty and staff on the Round Rock Campus are welcome to attend the San Marcos events, we will host a “State of Round Rock Campus” event on September 25 at 10 a.m. that will include a presentation from me, a President’s Cabinet panel discussion, and our third annual RRC cookout.
We have so much to celebrate as we mark TXST’s 125 years and continue to build a legacy for tomorrow together. I look forward to kicking off this next academic year with you.
Sincerely,
Kelly Damphousse
President
